About us

Built in a working restaurant

ShiftPlate is made by people who run one. It exists because the tools we had didn't fit the way a service actually goes — and it runs in our own restaurant every day, which is the only test that really counts.

Why it exists

Most restaurant software is written for a business that behaves predictably: fixed prices, planned hours, a month that closes neatly. Service doesn't behave like that. A supplier moves a price mid-week, someone calls in sick at five, and the margin on your best-selling dish drifts a few pence at a time until a quarter has gone. We built ShiftPlate to keep up with that, rather than to record it afterwards.

Who it's for

Independent restaurants and small groups — the ones where the person reading the numbers is also the person on the floor at seven. It works in euros or pounds, set per venue, and knows the difference between Spanish and UK holiday and working-time rules, because we needed both ourselves.

Where your data lives

In the EU. The database is in Frankfurt, your staff and sales data is never used to train AI models, and every company that can touch it is named in our data processing agreement. You can hand your accountant a read-only login rather than a folder of exports.

Straight answers

We're a small company and would rather say so than imply otherwise. If you want to know whether ShiftPlate fits your venue, the quickest route is a conversation with someone who has done your job.
